Tuscany/ Florence

Day 10- Day One in Tuscany

Day Run-Down

-Hotel Check Out and Back on the Bus- Goodbye Venice, Hello Tuscany

  • It was very sad to say goodbye to Venice :(

  • Lunch Stop at Eataly World

    • An incredible, giant indoor Italian market with various restaurants as well as different activities and exhibits.

  • Drove through the beautiful Italian countryside including through Emilia Romagna and Bologna

  • Total Time on Bus: 4 hours

-Arrival at Villa il Crocicchio in Tuscany!

  • A classic family-owned Tuscan villa with an incredibly nice, welcoming staff

  • My favorite hotel of the entire tour- it was like out of a movie!

  • The surrounding scenery was gorgeous- we were surrounded by dramatic mountains, vineyards, fields of olive trees- exactly how I pictured Tuscany would be!

  • Check into hotel, room assignments

-Down Time to Get Settled In

  • I wandered the vineyards and olive trees.

  • Many of us sat by the backyard pool, just relaxing and enjoying the view.

-Cooking Demonstration by Chef at the Villa

  • Demonstrated how to make the dishes we were having for dinner that night.

  • Amazing cultural experience!

-Outdoor Dinner at the Villa

  • My favorite dinner setting- eating outside in Tuscany under the trees, surrounded by mountains, beside a villa, it felt like we were in a movie. So lovely and scenic.

Memorable Moments

  • Cooking demonstration-  It was amazing to see these Italian dishes made by a real Italian chef. We all loved learning how to make the dishes and were even given the recipes to take home. The owner of the villa was there too, explaining the process, the recipe, answering any questions. It was activities such as this that were a great part of understanding the culture, I really cherished them.

Overall

A very nice, relaxing day. It was great to escape to the tranquil, gorgeous landscapes of Tuscany.
